I have pretty much always had medium-ish length hair. Sometimes it was longer, and that was when I felt most beautiful (but only when I fixed it and made it curly/wavy). But eventually I felt the urge for a drastic change of appearance. I have had my hair basically chopped off probably three times in my life. I won't go into what times those were; I shall simply say that a few weeks ago was one of them. It was certainly the most drastically short one of all. I suppose it cuts out a tad bit of stress in my life, and that makes it worth it.
It took Preston a little while to get used to it, and I think I'm still getting used to it.
But honestly... I love the way it feels. So nice and cool, and I can feel air flow on my scalp, which sounds weird but is amazing. Don't worry, it's not like a "buzz" cut or anything. It's just... shorter than my husband's is at the moment (which it's pretty long for him right now, so it's not like that's saying a lot). It makes me feel free. I never have to brush hair out of my eyes, mouth, etc. I don't even touch it most days (except a brief brush or comb after showers), and it looks just fine. Think Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday , but without the fancy little coifs. So as much as I would love to have the time for long hair, I think I shall save that goal for a later season of life- one where little fingers won't grab and pull at it.
I thought your hair turned out really cute when you got it super short (although I've only seen like one picture from when it was that length)!
